What is Utagawa Hiroshige known for in art?
I am known for my woodblock prints, particularly my landscapes. My aim was to capture the essence of travel and the ever-changing beauty of nature and the everyday lives of people. The scenes along the Tōkaidō highway, the bustling streets of Edo, and the quiet moments in gardens were my inspiration. I sought to convey not just the visual appearance, but also the feeling of a place, its atmosphere, and the fleeting quality of time.
