Was Hsiao Kung-chuan criticized for overlooking modern influences?
Some might perceive my emphasis on historical roots as neglecting contemporary global influences. However, my intention was never to isolate Chinese thought but to understand how it could engage with and adapt modern ideas, such as constitutionalism. My work sought to demonstrate that a deep grounding in tradition provides a more robust foundation for incorporating new political concepts, rather than being a barrier to progress.
