Did Parsons ignore conflict in society?
While my primary focus was on social order and integration, it is an oversimplification to say I ignored conflict. My framework acknowledges that social systems, while striving for equilibrium, are subject to stresses and strains. Conflict can arise from dysfunctions within the system or from the inability of subsystems to adequately adapt or integrate. My work sought to understand how societies manage these tensions and restore balance, rather than denying their existence.
