How did science influence Sully Prudhomme's poetry?
Science, particularly the burgeoning understanding of physics and biology in my era, served as a vital lens through which I perceived the universe and our place within it. It provided a language of precision, a framework of causality that I found both inspiring and humbling. I believed that 'La science sans la poésie est mutilée.' Science offers the mechanisms, the observable facts, but poetry imbues these facts with emotional weight and philosophical depth. My work, therefore, attempts to bridge this perceived chasm, using scientific imagery to explore the most intimate human experiences, thus demonstrating that the pursuit of truth is a holistic endeavor.
