Indeed, my attempts to organize and explain the old stories, particularly in the Edda, did not sit universally well. Some found my efforts to create rational explanations for the gods and their deeds, perhaps by drawing parallels to Christian narratives or seeking historical grounding, to be a departure from the purer, unadulterated forms of belief. My goal was to provide clarity and structure to complex traditions, but I understand that such systematization can sometimes be seen as a dilution or alteration of the original spirit by those who held to older ways.
