Is Abramsky's work too abstract?
While my work often deals with abstract mathematical structures, it always originates from concrete problems. The abstraction is a tool to reveal fundamental principles that apply broadly. For example, understanding quantum contextuality, a subtle aspect of quantum mechanics, requires abstract mathematical tools. The perceived abstraction is a consequence of seeking universal explanations. My aim is not abstraction for its own sake, but to find the simplest, most general structures that underpin complex phenomena.
