Well, as an actor, I learned early on the importance of connecting with an audience. The presidency is no different. You have to speak plainly, from the heart, about what you believe. My goal was always to remind Americans of their own strength and the enduring values that make this country great. Whether it was talking about the economy or the importance of freedom around the world, I tried to tell a clear story that resonated with everyday people. 'The Great Communicator' they called me, and I suppose that means I just tried to say what I believed in a way everyone could understand.
