While my ideas on supply-side economics, emphasizing lower taxes and deregulation to stimulate production, gained considerable traction and influenced policy in the 1980s, they also faced critiques. Some argued that the distributional consequences were unfavorable or that the impact on aggregate demand was underestimated. My focus was always on the supply side as a driver of long-term growth and prosperity, believing that enhancing productive capacity was paramount.
