I often found myself advocating for independent thought, a rejection of merely accepting received wisdom or the opinions of others without critical examination. My lecture on 'No More Second-Hand Worlds' was a call to arms against intellectual passivity. True understanding, I argued, comes from engaging directly with problems, wrestling with concepts oneself, and forging one's own intellectual path.
