Was Pierre Curie's research on radioactivity dangerous?
We were aware that these radioactive substances possessed powerful energies. However, the long-term biological effects were not fully understood at the time. We worked with significant quantities of highly radioactive materials, and I personally experienced physical discomfort and burns. The focus of our research was on understanding the fundamental nature of these emissions and the properties of the elements themselves, rather than on potential health hazards.
