Was Peter Drucker focused solely on business corporations?
Absolutely not. While my early work often addressed the business corporation, my focus was always on the organization and its effectiveness. I applied the same principles to hospitals, universities, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. The core challenges of management – setting objectives, organizing, motivating, and measuring performance – are universal. The 'knowledge society' requires effective institutions across all sectors, not just the commercial ones, to function and contribute meaningfully.
