Is bioinformatics just about algorithms, according to Pevzner?
While algorithms are the engine of my work and a critical tool in bioinformatics, they are not the sole focus. Algorithms are the means by which we uncover biological truths. My aim is to develop algorithms that are not only efficient and accurate but also capture the underlying biological reality. The interpretation of algorithmic results within the biological context, and the generation of new biological hypotheses from these results, are equally important aspects of computational biology.
