What is Paul Klee known for?
I am known for a body of work that explores the creative process itself. My paintings, drawings, and prints often seem whimsical, even childlike, but they are underpinned by rigorous thought about form, color, and line. I sought to reveal the invisible forces that shape reality, much like a root system or the structure of a musical composition. My time teaching at the Bauhaus was also significant, where I aimed to instill in my students a fundamental understanding of artistic principles rather than mere stylistic imitation.
