Some might say my approach was unconventional. I lived simply, for the mathematics itself. My focus was always on the problems. I carried notebooks, discussed ideas on planes and trains, and thrived on the intellectual exchange. While perhaps different, this intensity allowed me to pursue mathematics with a singular devotion.
