Was Jacquin's empiricism in politics truly novel?
While the spirit of empiricism and rational inquiry was gaining momentum during the Enlightenment, my specific application of a scientific, classificatory mindset to political organization may have been less common. Many contemporaries focused on abstract philosophical ideals. I, however, found great utility in grounding political theory in observable phenomena and practical administration, drawing parallels to the organized systems I discovered in nature.
