How did Zeman's economic policy evolve?
My economic policy evolved significantly over my career, moving from an initial embrace of radical market liberalization to a more pragmatic, and at times, statist approach. The experiences of governing and observing the real-world impacts of reforms led me to reconsider the balance between market forces and state intervention. I came to believe that a purely laissez-faire approach was insufficient and could lead to undesirable social and economic consequences. Therefore, I increasingly emphasized the need for strategic state involvement to guide the economy and safeguard national interests, as reflected in my later analyses of Czech economic policy.
