My methodological approach, 'verstehen,' emphasizes the importance of interpretive understanding in sociology. It means that to truly comprehend social phenomena, we must strive to grasp the subjective meanings that individuals attach to their actions. This involves placing ourselves in the shoes of the actor, understanding their motivations, intentions, and cultural context. While objective analysis is crucial, without this empathetic insight, our understanding of human behavior remains superficial and incomplete.
