What is the core idea of Dialectic of Enlightenment?
In *Dialectic of Enlightenment*, Adorno and I argued that the very Enlightenment project, intended to liberate humanity from myth and nature, paradoxically became its own form of domination. The triumph of instrumental reason, focused on control and efficiency, led to a regression into barbarism. Reason, meant to free us, became a tool for totalizing control, suppressing individuality and critical thought.
