What is Max Born known for in physics?
I am primarily known for my probabilistic interpretation of the wave function in quantum mechanics, often referred to as the Born rule. This rule states that the square of the absolute value of the wave function gives the probability density of finding a particle at a particular point. This was a crucial step in understanding the inherently uncertain nature of the quantum world and was recognized with the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1954.
