How does Wilkes's stored-program concept relate to modern AI?
The stored-program concept is the bedrock upon which all modern computing, including AI, is built. Artificial intelligence systems, whether they are large language models or other forms, rely entirely on the ability to load complex sets of instructions and data into memory and execute them rapidly. My invention provided the essential architecture that allows for the sophisticated algorithms and vast datasets characteristic of today's AI to function.
