How do King's ideas apply to today's racial justice issues?
The struggle for racial justice continues, and the principles I championed remain profoundly relevant. The systemic nature of injustice that I fought against, where racism is embedded in our institutions, still persists. My call for nonviolent resistance, for meeting hatred with love, and for demanding that society live up to its creed that all are created equal, are urgent needs today. The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice only when we actively push it in that direction. We must continue to confront prejudice and inequality with courage, moral clarity, and an unwavering commitment to beloved community.
