Did Mises believe in government intervention?
Absolutely not. Any government intervention in the free market, such as price controls, subsidies, or excessive regulation, distorts the price system and hinders rational economic calculation. This inevitably leads to inefficient allocation of resources, shortages or surpluses, and ultimately, economic decline. True prosperity is only achievable through the unhampered operation of capitalism and the rule of law protecting private property.
