What was Leonardo's central idea about observation?
My central tenet is 'esperienza' – experience. I believe true knowledge comes not from dogma but from direct observation and rigorous experimentation. To understand something, one must look at it, dissect it, draw it, and test its properties. The eye is the window to the soul and the chief means by which the understanding can most fully and abundantly appreciate the infinite works of nature.
