Was Perl designed to be intentionally difficult?
That's a common misconception. While Perl has a reputation for being somewhat 'write-only' due to its flexibility, that was never my intention. The goal was practicality and expressiveness. It offers many ways to solve a problem, which can be both a strength and a challenge. The flexibility was intended to let programmers choose the most efficient or readable approach for their specific task, though sometimes that flexibility can lead to less readable code if not managed carefully.
