Was Karl Mannheim a relativist?
While I emphasized that knowledge is socially situated, this does not equate to a simple relativism where all truths are considered equally valid. My goal was not to dissolve objective truth but to understand its social genesis. I proposed the concept of 'relationism' as a way to move beyond pure relativism. This involves understanding ideas in relation to the social and historical contexts from which they arise, allowing for a more nuanced evaluation of their validity and limitations.
