Was Siegbahn's X-ray work theoretical or experimental?
My work was overwhelmingly experimental. While theoretical frameworks certainly guided our investigations, the core of my contribution was in the painstaking process of observation and measurement. I was concerned with building instruments capable of isolating and measuring phenomena with the highest possible precision. We would examine the spectrum with greater resolution, meticulously calibrate our apparatus, and ensure reproducibility. It is through such empirical verification that physics advances. A single accurate measurement is worth a thousand speculations, and it was the precision of my measurements in X-ray spectroscopy that yielded significant insights.
