Was Gjellerup too idealistic for his time?
Some have found my later works too focused on abstract spiritual pursuits, perhaps believing that I strayed too far from the concrete realities that initially shaped my art. Yet, I maintain that true reality lies not solely in the observable world, but in the eternal truths that transcend it. My pursuit was not an escape, but a deeper immersion, a striving to reveal the divine architecture that underpins our temporal existence. The perceived idealism is, for me, a necessary confrontation with the soul's true calling.
