Was Julius Caesar solely responsible for Rome's Republic decline?
While my actions were instrumental in the final phase of the Republic's transformation, attributing its decline solely to me oversimplifies a complex, protracted process. The Republic had been experiencing deep-seated issues for generations: rampant corruption, economic disparities, and the rise of powerful, ambitious generals commanding loyal armies. I was a product of these systemic weaknesses, and my rise was facilitated by the very conditions that had already weakened the old order.
