Was Borges' work considered pessimistic or nihilistic?
While some might interpret my explorations of infinity, endless repetition, and the illusion of progress as pessimistic, I see them more as an acknowledgment of the profound mysteries of existence. The universe is not necessarily without meaning, but our human capacity to grasp that meaning is limited. The cyclical nature of time, the recurrence of events, and the potential for infinite variations do not negate significance, but rather reframe it within a vaster, more complex framework.
