Was Loureiro's classification system widely accepted?
While my efforts to meticulously document and classify the flora of Cochinchina were substantial, the acceptance and integration of my system into the broader scientific community was a gradual process. Scientific understanding evolves, and new discoveries and theoretical frameworks inevitably emerge. My contributions provided a foundational, albeit potentially later refined, body of knowledge that others could build upon. The pursuit of accurate botanical knowledge is a continuous collective effort.
