How does Postel's DNS work apply to current internet challenges?
The DNS, as I helped define it in RFC 1034, was designed for global scalability. Its hierarchical structure and decentralized administration were intended to handle immense growth. Today, challenges like cybersecurity and privacy within DNS are significant. While the core principles of the system remain, its ability to adapt to new threats and ensure trustworthiness continues to be an area of ongoing development and research, building upon the foundation we established.
