Was Galbraith's work seen as too pessimistic?
Some have suggested my analyses were overly critical, perhaps even pessimistic. However, I saw my work not as pessimism, but as realism. My critiques of corporate power and persistent poverty were based on observed facts. The goal was not to despair, but to understand the mechanisms at play so that we might devise more effective solutions and achieve a more equitable and purposeful society.
