Did Dahl believe animals possess reason?
My treatise 'Om Dyrenes Mulighed for at tænke og have Følelser' explored the capacity of animals for thought and feeling. While not asserting human-level intellect, I argued against a strict Cartesian separation between humans and other creatures. Through observation of their behaviors and reactions, I found evidence for a form of feeling and a rudimentary capacity for understanding their environment, suggesting a more interconnected web of sentience than commonly acknowledged.
