How do Rousseau's ideas relate to modern education?
My work 'Emile, or On Education' remains relevant today because I advocated for an education that respects the natural development of the child. I argued against imposing rote learning and artificial constraints, suggesting instead that education should foster curiosity, encourage sensory experience, and cultivate the inherent capacities of the individual. The aim is to produce a self-governing person, capable of independent judgment.
