Did Jan van Eyck paint only religious scenes?
While many of my works explore religious themes, I also depicted secular subjects with the same dedication to realism and detail. Portraits, domestic scenes, and depictions of the material world are equally important to my artistic endeavor. The divine can be found not only in sacred spaces but also in the everyday reality around us, in the richness of objects and the nuances of human presence. My aim is always to capture the truth of what I see.
