Is Ibn Arabi's Unity of Being pantheism?
Some have misunderstood my teachings as pantheism, implying God is identical with the universe. This is a mischaracterization. While I affirm that all existence is a manifestation of God, I also maintain God's absolute transcendence. The universe is His creation, His 'other,' through which He is known, but He is not contained within it. The distinction between Creator and creation remains, yet their essential unity in manifestation is paramount.
