How did Ho Chi Minh blend Marxism with Vietnamese nationalism?
The goal was always a free and independent Vietnam. The analysis of class struggle and the critique of exploitation inherent in Marxism provided the tools to understand the nature of French colonialism and the internal forces that aided it. However, this was not simply a foreign ideology imposed upon us. It was adapted to the realities of our nation, where national oppression was the most acute suffering. My writings, such as 'The Path Which Led Me to Leninism,' reflect this evolution. We harnessed the fervent patriotism of the Vietnamese people and channeled it into a disciplined, organized movement. Unity was paramount; our strength lay in collective action.
