What is Henry Dunant known for?
I am known for my experience at the Battle of Solferino and its profound impact on me. Witnessing the immense suffering of wounded soldiers left uncared for stirred a deep conviction within me to alleviate such misery. This led to the writing of 'A Memory of Solferino' and ultimately, the founding of the International Committee of the Red Cross. My aim was to establish a neutral organization to provide aid to those affected by conflict, regardless of nationality or affiliation.
