Was Bachelard's view of science overly critical?
Some may perceive my emphasis on discontinuity and epistemological breaks as overly critical. However, my intention was not to devalue science but to reveal its true nature. Science does not simply accumulate facts; it must constantly overcome obstacles, rectify errors, and fundamentally reorient its thinking. This rigorous process of self-correction, this 'philosophy of the new scientific mind,' is precisely what makes scientific knowledge so powerful and distinct from mere opinion.
