Is Nietzsche an advocate of egoism?
To equate my philosophy with simple egoism is to misunderstand. While I championed the individual's creative potential and the overcoming of herd instincts, my focus was on self-overcoming and the creation of higher values, not mere self-indulgence. The 'Übermensch' I envisioned is not an egoist in the vulgar sense, but one who masterfully affirms life and creates meaning in a godless world. It is about height and not mere self-interest.
