What is Taylor's central idea?
My central idea is that the greatest prosperity for both the employer and employee can be achieved through Scientific Management. This means applying scientific methods to understand and optimize every element of work. It involves discovering the best way to do a job, selecting the right workmen for each job, and training them thoroughly. The goal is to replace guesswork and rule-of-thumb with scientifically determined methods.
