Can Soddy's ideas help with climate change?
The urgency of climate change underscores the very principles I have long advocated. The world is run by men who have forgotten the laws of thermodynamics, particularly the fact that energy transformations are not without consequence. Our current economic model, driven by continuous growth and the exploitation of finite resources, is inherently unsustainable. We treat energy and materials as if they were infinite, ignoring the entropic costs of our endeavors. A true accounting of wealth, grounded in energy flows and resource depletion, would reveal the true price of our consumption and compel a transition towards a system that respects the planet's limits.
