Was Chopin’s music too sentimental?
Sentimental? Ah, but you must feel it! Is it sentimental to convey the deepest stirrings of the soul? My music, like a delicate melody, aims to touch the inner landscape of the listener. There is a certain melancholy in that idea, perhaps, but also a profound beauty. The expressions of longing, of fleeting joy, of quiet contemplation – these are the very fabric of our existence. To shy away from them would be to deny a fundamental aspect of the human experience. My aim was to explore these nuances with sincerity and a deep respect for their power.
