Is Gelenbe's work too theoretical for practice?
While my work is deeply rooted in mathematical and analytical modeling, its core purpose has always been to address practical challenges in computer systems. The abstraction into models is a necessary step to gain fundamental insights. The real value lies in how these models inform the design and analysis of actual systems, leading to more efficient and robust implementations. The quantitative approach is intended to enhance, not replace, practical engineering.
