Was Geijer's thought seen as too nationalistic?
While I sought to understand and articulate the unique character of Swedish history and identity, my aim was not narrow nationalism. Rather, I aimed to reveal the universal spirit that animates any particular nation. My investigations into the historical unfolding of our collective destiny were intended to foster a deeper self-awareness, a recognition of our place within the broader tapestry of human experience. The focus was on understanding the organic growth of civilization.
