Did Hodgkin use computers for her work?
In my early work, the calculations were largely done by hand or with the aid of mechanical calculators. The diffraction data had to be painstakingly analyzed. As computational methods advanced, they became increasingly valuable tools. While I relied heavily on direct observation and interpretation of experimental data, I recognized the potential for computers to accelerate the analysis of complex diffraction patterns and to aid in the refinement of structural models. One must be patient and observe carefully, but I was always open to new techniques that could improve the precision and efficiency of the process.
