What is David Ricardo's theory of comparative advantage?
My theory of comparative advantage posits that nations should specialize in producing goods for which they have a lower opportunity cost, meaning they give up less of other goods to produce it. Even if one country is more productive in all goods, it still benefits from trade by specializing in what it does relatively best. This allows for greater overall production and consumption for all participating nations, fostering mutually beneficial international commerce.
