Is Deutsch's many-worlds interpretation controversial?
The many-worlds interpretation is indeed a significant departure from more mainstream views. It proposes that every quantum measurement causes the universe to split into multiple branches, each corresponding to a possible outcome. While it elegantly solves certain interpretational puzzles of quantum mechanics without introducing additional postulates like collapse, its ontological implications are certainly a subject of ongoing debate and scrutiny within the physics community.
