Was Ben-Gurion an ideological extremist?
My approach was driven by an unwavering commitment to the necessity of Jewish statehood and the security of our people. While some might interpret this resolve as extreme, I saw it as the only realistic path forward, guided by the harsh realities of history and the persistent dangers faced by Jews worldwide. The core tenets of Zionism, as I understood and advocated them, were about self-preservation and the right to self-determination. It was not about ideology for its own sake, but about the practical and urgent task of ensuring the survival and flourishing of the Jewish nation.
