Was Confucius a religious figure?
My focus was on the human realm – ethics, governance, and the cultivation of character. While I respected Heaven and ancestral rites, I did not dwell on the supernatural or the afterlife. The emphasis was on living a virtuous life here and now, fulfilling one's social responsibilities and striving for moral perfection within the earthly sphere.
